My Beauty Resolution: Use More, Spend Less and K.I.S.S.

I have a confession to make: I’ve been a bit hypocritical of late.

This week I’ve managed to spend more than I’d like to admit on new products. While I have been able to nab all of the new items at a discounted price, I certainly could have used a lot more self control.

As a result I’ve made a pact with myself: take it easy, tiger.

I am not ashamed to admit I have an entire shelving unit for my makeup and skincare, but it would be a lie if I said that perhaps it is a bit excessive, and somewhat silly of me to keep on buying different versions of what is virtually the same product.

Thus, the conclusion to cut down and actually finish the products I have before indulging in more of the same has been reached.

My intention is pretty simple: use what I currently own, cut down my spending, and stop buying the same damn shade of lipsticks in every brand known to humankind.

It seems simple, right?

Well, you’re not wrong. I just have no self-control.

All going well, I will be going on a makeup- buying detox for the next seven weeks! This will take me all the way through to the 10th of July, after I return from my adventure to South Africa. The only exceptions permitted is if I genuinely run out of a product that does not have a sister product in my collection.

What are your thoughts on this? Can I do it?

  1. I also buy many skincare and make up products but I don’t use some of them. I need to control my self and buy the products that I would definitely use and important.
